WHITENING

Teeth whitening at a dental practice is the safest, most effective and fastest way to get a dazzlingly-white smile.

MAKEOVER

In our clinic, we bleach teeth using a zoom lamp and whitening trays. Often, these two types of whitening are combined by patients in the case of an unsatisfactory effect after lamp whitening. In the case of this patient, the Hollywood white effect was achieved by combining lamp whitening with tray whitening.

Teeth must be prepared for the whitening procedure

Before whitening, all teeth must be treated and a full procedure must be performed to get rid of tartar and plaque build-ups that hinder the whitening gel from reaching the enamel.

When should teeth not be whitened?

Teeth whitening is not for:

  •  Pregnant women. For ethical reasons, no studies have been conducted to confirm how substances or devices used in the course of the whitening affect the health of a pregnant woman or the development of the foetus. Pregnant women should only opt for medical treatments out of all dental procedures, and leave all others for later.
  • Patients with oral diseases such as: caries, inflammation of the gums, exposed tooth roots, canker sores, ulcers or tooth hypersensitivity.
  • Patients who are allergic to any of the whitening ingredients.
  • Children and adolescents up to 16 years of age.

Neither is it for:

  • patients with crowns, veneers or after the bonding procedure – whitening products whiten the enamel, not the ceramics. Therefore, they will not whiten veneers, crowns or composite, which cover parts of the teeth after the bonding procedure.
